Mom, teacher, goal-reacher
If you had told me 10 years ago I would co-own a vacation cleaning company, caring for over 80
properties, I would have laughed and said no way. With a bachelor’s and master’s degree in early
childhood education, I had spent 14 years in the classroom, loving every second of teaching.
Following the birth of my first child in 2010, however, my entrepreneurial husband suggested I start a
cleaning company. Having been in school as a student or teacher since the age of 5, that idea sounded
foreign to me.
Fast-forward a bit, and with a company name, business license, and some insurance,
Emerald Coast Cleaning Solutions was established. We hit the ground running, and never looked back.
My husband, Phil, and I run the company together (along with a few other ventures he has started over
the years).
From day one, we have had three basic principles: HONESTY, INTEGRITY, and PROFESSIONALISM.
These traits alone have allowed us to grow exponentially over the years, specializing
in cleaning private vacation rental homes for out-of-state owners. We work alongside local management
companies that also uphold these same qualities. Our goal is to provide a quality product, on time, while
achieving a level of satisfaction and trust that keeps clients coming back.

With three full-time staff and 25 crews employed during the high season, we are always on the go. As a
mom of four, my life is very busy, managing a household and working full-time. Looking back, I am
thankful for the path my husband started for our (growing) family. Though I work full-time, I am still able
to send my kids off to school and be there when they get home. I don’t miss out on their activities and
am able to create my own schedule, allowing flexibility for my family.
I have met some amazing people over the years and built great friendships with homeowners, guests,
and cleaners. There is a real sense of accomplishment, knowing I am creating jobs that help others
provide for the needs of their own families.
I’m not sure what I will be doing 10 years from now, but I know we will continue this path as long as we
are physically capable. I am grateful that I get to live out my dream of being a mom and owning a
business where I can make a difference in the lives of many, many people!
